Actuators are devices, usually connected to an auxiliary output on the ECU, that can perform functions such as idle speed and boost control.
They are normally managed by the ECU via a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal. This signal can be varied from 0% to 100% to control the actuator's performance.
